Regional and Community events have proven to be an effective encouragement to the church body in Busoga throughout the history of the movement.  These events provide an opportunity for Christians to come together for fellowship and discussion of ministry ideas and methods from across Uganda .  The purpose of events within the ministry in Busoga is to build an awareness of community and interdependence among the churches both in village and town.  Below is a list of some of the gatherings which have defined and continue to define a movement identity:

  • Busoga Wide Conference – Busoga Wide Conference is a yearly event in which all churches of Christ in Busoga are invited.  Its purpose is to encourage church members, edify each congregation, and promote unity within the movement.  The event usually takes place in a weekend conference and includes times of prayer, worship, preaching, teaching, fellowship and reporting.  At present, missionaries take primary responsibility for funding the event, while Ugandans will oversee the planning and execution of the event.  Each congregation will be responsible for the transport of its members to and from the conference.
  • Busoga Women’s Conference – This annual conference started in 2002 but has grown in numbers and enthusiasm for each event.  During the last meeting, over 200 women gathered from around Busoga to attend the weekend seminar where health and Bible lessons were taught and the women were able to retreat and be served by men for a change.  Currently, funding for the event is provided primarily by missionaries and outside supporters.
  • Super Sundays are multi-congregational gatherings of churches within a close proximity of one another, grouped as “clusters.”  The aim of these cluster meetings is to facilitate worship, fellowship and communication concerning events within the respective communities.  This allows several churches to assist in the fundraising for buildings, weddings and funerals.  Super Sunday gatherings also provide an opportunity for enhanced communication between the town ministries and the village churches.
  • The National Meeting is an annual gathering of Ugandan Christians and missionaries that rotates location among the NTCC mission sites of Fort Portal , Mbarara, Kampala , Mbale and Jinja.  The meeting is held every September and spans 3 days. Jinja will host the National Meeting in September 2007.  Both Ugandan leaders and missionaries are involved in the planning and administration of the meeting, which includes worship, prayer, teaching, area reports and announcements.
